Our new 25,000 square-foot Cancer Pavilion extends Good Samaritan Hospital's existing cancer program capabilities and ushers in a new dimension of holistic care for your community. Because cancer affects the whole person, the new facility is designed to meet each patient's medical needs, as well as address their mental, emotional and spiritual needs.
Our multidisciplinary approach to care brings dedicated physicians and staff together to assist patients in every phase of their personalized treatment plan. Located on the southeast side of campus, the Cancer Pavilion offers the highest quality of cancer treatment right here in Vincennes.
The Cancer Pavilion's radiation therapy includes the hospital's linear accelerator and state-of-the-art Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). One of only a few in the state, the IMRT is an advanced tool that allows our specialists to target a tumor precisely and match the shape of the radiation beam to the tumor. This level of accuracy focuses the radiation where it's intended and spares the healthy surrounding tissue.
A resource library with Internet access gives patients and their families a centralized location for information about every aspect of the disease. Knowledge is power and understanding the disease is a good first step towards recovery.
A boutique, which carries wigs, turbans, mastectomy supplies and other patient necessities is also located in the Cancer Pavilion. These items are often quite helpful in assisting a patient through his or her mental and emotional recovery.
