Foundation

Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation exists solely to support Good Samaritan Hospital in its mission to continue to be a regional hospital that provides quality care in a patient-centered atmosphere to communities of Knox and surrounding counties. The primary focus of Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation is to achieve the necessary philanthropic support needed to assure Good Samaritan Hospital's continued provision of quality health care to our community now and in the future.

Mission

The mission of Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation is to raise private, philanthropic support for Good Samaritan Hospital, its programs and services and to assure the continuation of the delivery of the highest quality medical and health care services that our community deserves and has come to expect. Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation will accomplish its mission by: 

Acting as the principal agent through which charitable contributions are made to benefit Good Samaritan Hospital

Developing comprehensive giving programs that allow donors at all giving levels to participate

Continuing to expand and offer creative giving opportunities that will successfully match donor interest with health care needs at the hospital

Acting as good stewards of the funds entrusted to Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation in support of the hospital

Recruiting and educating volunteers in the community about the role of charitable giving in support of quality health care services and programs.

Scholarships

Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students pursuing degree in health care.

The Gloria Van Eaton Nursing & Allied Healthcare Scholarship is awarded to a student attending Vincennes University, who is a Good Samaritan Hospital employee, a dependent of an employee, or a qualifying volunteer. The student must be enrolled at Vincennes University on a full or halftime basis and pursuing a degree in a health care field. 

The Chris & Laura Nardine Memorial Scholarship is awarded to any student enrolled at Vincennes University on a full or half time basis and pursuing a degree in a health care field.

The Beacon of Excellence Scholarship is awarded to one graduating high school senior, from each of the area high schools in Knox County, Indiana and Lawrence County, Illinois. The student must be enrolled in a college or university on a full or half time basis and pursuing a degree in a health care field.
