Giving Programs

Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation provides financial support for a variety of programs and services including: technology advancement, equipment and refurbishing purchases, facilities renovation and expansion, health and wellness education, medical education, health care services and programs continuation or expansion, and scholarships.

Gifts received by the hospital's foundation fall into two categories:

Annual Fund:

Annual giving provides a base of support for Good Samaritan Hospital and its entities.

Gifts range from $1 to $999 and are generated from personal solicitation, direct mail, special projects, memorials, tribute gifts, and special events.

Major Gifts:

A major gifts program is a source of substantial support for the mission of the hospital. Major gifts by definition are $1,000 or greater.

Giving Levels - Annual Gifts

Recognizing and thanking donors is an integral part of continuing the mission of the Foundation. Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation donors are recognized through the following giving levels:

Friends of Good Samaritan Hospital

Friends of Good Samaritan Hospital are those who make donations totaling less than $100.

Friends of Good Samaritan $1 - $99

Columbian Circle Society

The Columbian Circle Society was named in honor of the Columbian Reading Circle, whose members initiated the first fund-raising drive for the formation of Good Samaritan Hospital in 1908.

The Columbian Circle Society is an annually renewable gift club for members making donations of $100 or more. Donations may be made as a one-time gift or a series of gift payments throughout the year. Membership levels are:

  • Patron $100 - $499

  • Associate $500 - $999

  • Benefactor $1000 or more

Members' names are posted on the Columbian Circle Society display in the Health Pavilion Lobby.

Gibault Society

The Gibault Society was formed to recognize the Clark-Gibault Memorial Hospital Association. This group, named in honor of George Rogers Clark and Father Pierre Gibault, was incorporated to sponsor the establishment of the hospital and oversee its operation.

Membership in the Gibault Society is extended to donors who make a commitment of $5,000 or more in support of the hospital. The commitment may be fulfilled immediately or through an aggregate of gifts totaling no less than $5,000. Gibault Society members are recognized on a permanent display in the Health Pavilion Lobby.

Gibault Society member levels:

  • Humanitarian $5,000 - $9,999

  • Samaritan $10,000 or more

Gibault Society members are recognized on a permanent display in the Health Pavilion Lobby.

Tributes

A tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor or remember a dear friend or family member. A gift of any amount may be made in memory of someone. Tribute gifts are recognized three ways:

All tribute gifts, no matter the amount, receive a special listing in hospital publications

Those who make tribute gifts of $100 or more are recognized in conjunction with the Columbian Circle Society.

Tribute gifts of $1,000 or more are memorialized in a permanent display in Good Samaritan Hospital's Health Pavilion.

"Honor A Health Care Provider"

A gift in honor of a health care provider is recognized with an acknowledgement letter sent to the health care provider from the Foundation. It is a great way to recognize a staff member from whom you, or a loved one, has received "excellent care."

Good Samaritan Society

The Good Samaritan Society is comprised of donors who have designated Good Samaritan Hospital or Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation as a recipient of a planned gift. It serves to recognize and honor those who have made provisions to perpetuate their interest and support of the hospital beyond their lifetime and wish to express their long-term commitment to Good Samaritan Hospital. Members of the Good Samaritan Society are recognized on a permanent display in the Visitors Lobby hallway.

A Legacy Through Philanthropy
