Pulmonology/Respiratory Care

Patients who have difficulty breathing require immediate assistance. Good Samaritan Hospital makes sure they get it. The Respiratory Therapy Department provides quality critical care respiratory services, medical-surgical respiratory services and pulmonary function testing for all ages. Our registered respiratory therapists and certified respiratory care technicians deliver a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. They work throughout the hospital in emergency rooms, intensive care (adults and newborns), surgery suites and post-op areas, at a patient's bedside — wherever they are needed.

Using Respiratory Care Protocols, respiratory therapists assess each patient's condition, develop an individualized care plan and monitor and adjust therapy based on the patient's response. They have experience in sophisticated equipment and the latest techniques, and a genuine concern for the patients they treat.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Our pulmonary rehabilitation program is designed to help people who are living with chronic obstructive lung diseases such as asthma, emphysema or bronchitis. The program provides individualized care and includes stress management, exercise, and education.

Smoking-related illnesses are among the top preventable causes of death in our nation. Smoking is linked to lung diseases including cancer and emphysema. If you're a smoker, there's no better time to stop. Our smoking cessation classes are taught by an American Lung Association-trained facilitator and are available to the public.
