Radiation Oncology Services

Good Samaritan Hospital offers excellent cancer diagnostics, treatment and care close to home because we know how important having the encouragement and support of family and friends can be to patients facing cancer.

Radiation therapy is one of the most common treatments for cancer and is used in more than half of all cancer cases. Our interdisciplinary approach includes the latest in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, rehabilitative therapies as well as skilled nursing services, infusion services, and hospice team.

Our Radiation Oncology Department utilizes a modern simulator and 3-D computerized treatment planning. We have one of the most advanced linear accelerators in the state for administering radiation therapy. Its precision limits the amount of radiation to healthy tissue surrounding the tumor, and greatly reduces side effects. We also offer a range of brachytherapy treatments, which are used for prostate, cervical and uterine cancers. Click here to download a brochure about our advanced linear accelerator.

You and your family know you're in good hands here. Our cancer program has been certified by the American College of Surgeons since 1979, and all of the radiation oncology physicians, our medical physicist and medical dosimetrist are board certified and highly experienced. In 2011, the our cancer program received the Commission on Cancer's Outstanding Achievement Award.
