Program Description
Good Samaritan Hospital offers individuals who are interested in a career in Radiography the opportunity to receive training through their Radiography Program, which is a 24-month hospital based Program founded in 1956. The Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), 20 North Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, Illinois 60606-3182, (312) 704-5300, email: mail@jrcert.org.
The Program prepares the individual to assume responsibilities and duties of a Radiographer with ability and confidence. The Program integrates academic, technical and human relation aspects of an individuals education to enable them to do significant work in the profession.
All Radiography didactic courses are taught at Good Samaritan Hospital with the students routinely rotating through clinicals during the 2-year program. This enables the student to broaden their experience and skills to other facilities.
Radiography Program Mission Statement
The Mission of the Good Samaritan Hospital Radiography Program in Vincennes, Indiana is dedicated to the preparation of highly qualified Radiographers to meet the need of the health care community.
Radiography Program Goals
1. Students will be clinically competent.
2. Students will demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills.
3. Students will have grown and developed professionally.
4. Students will demonstrate communication skills.
5. Program will assure overall program effectiveness.
Application Process
The application involves several different steps, which include: an application form, essay, copies of college transcripts, a copy of high school diploma or GED (if applicable), three Reference Letters, Clinical Observation, Entrance Examination and an interview. The sooner the application process is started the better chance we have to review your records and determine whether you meet the Minimum Academic Requirements. If there are any courses that are needed to meet the requirements, we may be able to direct your attention to those courses to better enable your chance of completing the application process for this year. We encourage individuals to go ahead and submit the application items as they are completed or become available.
A new application to the Good Samaritan Hospital Radiography Program must be submitted each year, regardless if the individual applied the prior year. New application packet, for the next year will be sent out after the January 1st deadline upon request.
Applications are accepted year 'round. The application deadline is January 1st. The program start date for a new class is the second week of June.

Minimum Academic Requirements
Individual must be a High School graduate or have passed their GED.
Individuals must have completed the following college courses prior to the start of the program:
Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab....................................3 credits
Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab...................................3 credits
Medical Terminology..........................................................3 credits
English Composition I.........................................................3 credits
Speech or Interpersonal Communication.............................3 credits
Intermediate Algebra or higher............................................3 credits
Completion of the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee an individual a position in the program, but prepares the individual to succeed if they are chosen into the program.
