Schools and Universities

Education for students of all ages is a priority in our community.

Founded in 1801, Vincennes University is the oldest college in Indiana and one of the oldest in the nation. The beautifully landscaped 100-acre campus is home to more than 5,000 students, from every county in Indiana, 31 states and 36 countries.

Celebrating a rich tradition of academic excellence, Vincennes University is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and offers more than 200 associate degree programs, as well as baccalaureate degrees in select areas that address Indiana's growing workforce needs.

VU is home to the state-of-the-art Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, which provides area residents with quality entertainment and cultural programs. Faculty and guest art exhibits and lectures are also available.

Elementary and High Schools

Vincennes Community School Corporation provides quality education to students throughout Vincennes. The school system includes, Vincennes Lincoln High School, Clark Middle School, Riley Elementary School, Washington Elementary, Vigo Elementary, Tecumseh-Harrison Elementary and Franklin Elementary School.

Students living outside of Vincennes also attend high-quality schools, at either South Knox School Corporation or North Knox School Corporation.

The Vincennes Catholic School system provides an alternative for students. It is an inter-parish school system operating under the Catholic Diocese of Evansville, Indiana. The system serves students in grades K-12 at Flaget Elementary and Rivet Middle and High School.
