Through proper testing, diagnosis, and care we can help you manage and overcome problems to get the rest you require.

Good Samaritan Hospital's Sleep Disorders Center has been certified as a Community Sleep Awareness Partner (CSAP) of the National Sleep Foundation since 2002. The CSAP program is an educational and promotional partnership with more than 400 sleep centers across the United States and Canada.

Symptoms of Sleep Deprivation

Are you getting the sleep you need? Sleep disorders do more than cause you to feel tired. A lack of rest can lead to accidents at work and on the road. It can also affect your relationships, health, and mental prowess, and make you feel disconnected to the world around you. If you are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms during the day, you may have a sleep disorder:

  • Tiredness

  • Irritability, edginess

  • Inability to tolerate stress

  • Problems with concentration, forgetfulness

  • Behavioral, learning, or social problems

  • Frequent infections

  • Blurred vision

  • Alterations in appetite

Diagnosis and Treatment

If you are referred to Good Samaritan's Sleep Disorders Center, our team of sleep specialists will use the latest technology to determine what's causing the problem. Patient visits begin at 8:30 p.m. You'll be given a private room and a variety of monitoring devices will be attached to your body once you are ready for bed. These devices will provide helpful information about your brain waves, heart rate, rapid eye movements, and more. For an accurate reading, technicians will need six hours of recording time.

Once our sleep specialists have analyzed the results of your sleep study, either they or your referring physician will set up a time to review the results with you and design a treatment program if necessary.
