Good Samaritan Updates Visitor Guidelines Effective July 24

Good Samaritan Updates Visitor Guidelines Effective July 24

Good Samaritan visitors no longer have to utilize the Emergency Department entrance for evening and weekend visits. The hospital’s main entrance will be open to coincide with visitation hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. This will reduce walking distances for visitors and traffic through the Emergency Department.

Furthermore, Good Samaritan will expand visitation to allow one visitor to stay overnight with their loved one. The below criteria must be met:

  1. Visitor must be 18 years or older.
  2. Visitor must be able to take care of themselves independently.
  3. Visitor must stay in the room after normal visiting hours unless urgent/emergent issue arises.

“Healing is not just a word in our mission statement but a part of how we think about caring for the patients we are fortunate to serve,” stated Adam Thacker, Good Samaritan's Chief Operating Officer. “Easier access for visitors to get to their loved ones and the ability to stay overnight are examples of how Good Samaritan is making medicine better. The best part is that these changes came from not only our patients’ suggestions but also our employees’ voices through a couple of different mechanisms. Our employees spoke up and said we can make a positive change while still maintaining a safe environment for our team, visitors and patients.”
