Good Samaritan Announces Changes to Walk with a Doc Program

Good Samaritan announces a new phase for its Walk with a Doc program. The walking event is now being hosted once per month on the second Saturday. The next walk will be held on October 14 at Gregg Park at 9 a.m. Beginning November 11, the walk will move indoors to the Vincennes University Student Recreation Center and start at 9:30 a.m.

Key Updates:

Monthly Walks: In response to community feedback and to provide more comprehensive health education, Walk with a Doc will now take place once a month. This allows for an introduction to various health topics, ensuring participants gain valuable insights during each event.

Winter Location: During the winter months, our venue for Walk with a Doc will be the Vincennes University Student Recreation Center indoor track at 1600 Short Street on the VU campus. The winter dates at Vincennes University will be November 11, December 9, January 13, February 10 and March 9. This modern facility provides an excellent setting for our community to come together and prioritize their health.

Time: The October 14 walk will start at 9 a.m. Starting in November, it will change to 9:30 a.m.

Varied Health Topics: Good Samaritan providers will continue to lead these monthly walks and discussions on a wide range of current health topics. Participants can look forward to learning more about important health matters that impact their lives.

No Pre-Registration Required: Good Samaritan remains dedicated to inclusivity. There is no need for pre-registration; simply arrive ready to participate in this community health initiative.

Free and Open to All: Good Samaritan's Walk with a Doc program remains entirely free, welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels. Our goal is to make health and wellness accessible to everyone in our community.

Good Samaritan's Walk with a Doc program, in partnership with the national non-profit organization, Walk with a Doc, aims to encourage healthy physical activity, combat the consequences of sedentary lifestyles, and improve the overall health and well-being of our community.
