Digital Mammography

A mammogram is an x-ray photograph of the breast that is used to diagnose breast cancer. It's a safe and accurate diagnostic test that helps trained experts spot abnormalities.

At Good Samaritan Hospital, we're very proud to offer digital mammography. Only a handful of hospitals have this state-of-the-art technology. Digital mammography allows us to pinpoint and treat tumors that are too small to detect through touch. We also have a computer-aided system that alerts radiologists of any differences so nothing is overlooked.

The American Cancer Society recommends that women over 40 have mammograms on a yearly basis. Through grants from Susan G. Komen and Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, we're ensuring that women in Knox and surrounding counties who can't afford annual mammograms don't fall through the cracks.
