Good Samaritan Will Be Offering A New, Fun-Filled Night For Women

Good Samaritan is excited to present a revamped women’s health fair this May. The event used to be called Spring Screenings, but is now the Women’s Wellness Expo. The event will take place on May 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Highland Woods Community Center in Vincennes. Free health screenings and health information will still be offered, but now some new and exciting features will be added including a LulaRoe fashion show, fitness demonstrations by Elements and shopping with different vendors of interest to women.

Consistently performing around 300 free screenings each year at the women’s event, Good Samaritan decided to add some more fun to the evening to draw in women who maybe have never attended before. “Over the last several years this health fair has featured the same screenings and health information, so we felt it was time to shake things up a bit and offer some activities we think the women will really enjoy,” said Tiffany Conover, Director of Marketing at Good Samaritan. “Women so often put the needs of their family before their own, and this revamped event gives them the opportunity to not just get a check up on their health but to have a fun night out.” In addition to the screenings, fashion show, fitness demonstrations and shopping vendors, delicious hors d’oerves will be served and prizes will be awarded throughout the night. Music will be provided by WZDM.

There is no appointment necessary to attend the Women’s Wellness Expo. The free health screenings include bone density, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol (LDL and HDL), colorectal take-home kits, glomerular filtration rate (kidney function) and more. Fasting for 10 to 12 hours before these screenings is recommended, but not required. Multiple hospital department booths will also be available offering information about certain health risks women face.

“We are excited to start a new tradition and offer more at the women’s event,” said Rob McLin, Good Samaritan President and CEO. “Providing the free screenings is something that we are proud to do every year and we hope to reach more people by presenting some new, fun attractions catered toward women.”

Women of all ages are encouraged to attend this year’s Women’s Wellness Expo on May 2. To learn more about the event or to see the night’s agenda, click HERE.
