Individual Membership Program To Benefit Those With High-Deductible Health Insurance Plans

Your health care is important and now it is even easier to receive the care you deserve, at a price you can afford. At the Wellness Matters Clinic, you can obtain basic primary care services for a one time yearly payment of $350. The Wellness Matters Individual Membership Program allows you to visit the office for a co-payment of $20 and have access to a select inventory of generic medications, all priced at $10 each. The Individual Membership Program, delivered through Wellness Matters, also offers select clinical lab tests to you at no additional cost. All services are provided through the Wellness Matters Clinic located at 1813 Willow Street, Vincennes, Indiana. Services provided by any other provider or facility is not part of the membership program.

The Wellness Matters Clinic is a primary care office owned and operated by Good Samaritan. Unlike other local primary care offices, the only patients seen are those that have a contractual relationship with Good Samaritan. For example, health plan participants for an employer can contract with the Wellness Matters Clinic for services. The clinic is not available to the general public. However, due to the rising frequency of high deductible health plans in the market place, Good Samaritan has decided to offer an annual membership plan to individuals. This annual membership program offers individuals access to Good Samaritan clinic providers and services for a low annual fee.

The Individual Program is not health insurance. This is a membership program that offers access to affordable primary care services at discounted rates. Because of recent changes in health care, all citizens are required by law to purchase health insurance coverage. However, the membership fee plus the low per-visit charge covers the vast majority of care at the Wellness Matters Clinic. A major medical policy can provide you financial protection against catastrophic health events such as a major illness or accidents requiring hospital stays and extensive medical coverage.

“We felt like we needed to do something for those individuals who have high-deductible insurance plans and cannot afford to see their physician,” stated Mickey Pagan, Director of Integrated Health. “They may be hesitant to see their doctor because of the out-of-pocket cost, thus resulting in more severe health problems and higher costs for the patient.”

Good Samaritan will coordinate referrals to a specialist or to the hospital when needed. However, such referred services are not part of the Individual Membership Program and each member will be responsible for any and all additional charges associated with the referred services. This is why Good Samaritan recommends having a major medical health insurance plan.

All visits are by appointment only and select inventories of generic medications are on-site for purchase. Prescriptions can also be sent to the pharmacy of the patient’s choice. To sign up for the program or to seek more information, please call the Wellness Matters Clinic at 812-885-8945.
