Ahad Waraich, MD,MPP

About Ahad

From Evanston IL, Ahad earned his BA from the University of Chicago in Biological Sciences. After graduation; he worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer in an underserved community in Chicago. Ahad completed a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. At Harvard, he represented medicine in all possible forums. He was actively engaged in serving the local community and medical school, including a leadership role as Advocacy Chair for the Hopkins American Medical Association (AMA) chapter. In this role, he taught, guided, and assisted medical students in advocating for educational enhancements as well as domestic and global health policy changes. His interests include reading about and discussing various fields of study (psychology, sociology, etc). He also enjoys policy and public health work (e.g. his work with the AMA), South Asian culture (poetry, music, etc.), which provides him peace and focus. Ahad has been to Pakistan more than a dozen times which has given him perspective on socioeconomic and cultural issues.
