Suhail, a Chicagoan, is the first in his family to attend college. He achieved
his Bachelors at Loyola, where he was a Fulbright finalist, and his Masters
in Public Health in Heath Policy and Management from Columbia University.
In New York he was a director of Heritage Health and Housing, an FQHC
& housing NGO. He raised more than $2 million and created a women's
health center in Harlem. He started the Physicians for Human Rights (PHR)
student chapter at UIC, which addressed the Flint water crisis and the
fate of the Affordable Care Act under President Donald Trump. Suhail was
a research fellow for the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research
and authored multiple publications, He enjoys running (2008 Chicago Marathon
finisher and placed in the top 2% at the 2007 Spirit of St. Louis Half
Marathon), astronomy and astrophysics, and sports especially the Chicago Bulls.
