About This Event

  • Event Type:Community Health
Details:

We are very excited to announce the first annual event, Dancing with the Vincennes Stars!  We have 5 amazing people who have stepped up to the challenge as well as 3 celebrity judges!  They are all excited and ready to take on the night to hopefully raise a little money for a great cause! Whether you sponsor a table or purchase individual tickets we want you there!

The proceeds from this fundraising event will support daily operations of the Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse, a division of the Samaritan Center. The Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse (WVFC) is much more than a social or employment service. First and foremost, they are a community of people with mental health difficulties working together toward the common goal of recovery. Participants are known as “members” and are unique individuals who possess valuable talents, strengths and abilities which when combined, assist in making the Clubhouse come alive. The sense of membership, support and belonging are the very heart of the Clubhouse way of working. This is an important part of helping our members live their best life at their highest level possible. For some, that means going to college or getting their GED. For others that could mean learning to budget their money, shopping for household necessities or learning how to cook a meal for themselves. Many great things go on each day at the Clubhouse to help our Members. The Clubhouse has grown by leaps and bound in the first year and a half, so much so they are moving into a new building this fall! Our next project is to create a Clubhouse for our Daviess County clients.

For more information on what takes place at the Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse visit our website here and you can follow us on Facebook here.
