Good Samaritan Hospice to Host Camp Memiki: A Grief Camp for Children

Good Samaritan Hospice is proud to offer Camp Memiki, a special one-day grief camp designed to support children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The camp will take place on Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oubache Trails Park in Vincennes, Indiana.

Camp Memiki is open to children ages 6 to 13 and is completely free for any child navigating grief. Throughout the day, campers will participate in a variety of healing and engaging activities, including games, art therapy, nature walks, and more. These activities are designed to help children process their emotions, build coping skills, and connect with peers who are facing similar experiences.

“Camp Memiki is meant to provide a fun and engaging way for children to learn how to cope with grief,” said Makenzie Barrett, RN, Nurse Manager for Good Samaritan Hospice and Palliative Care. “It’s always a special event, and we are proud to offer this opportunity to children in our community who need extra support.”

As a community outreach program, Camp Memiki focuses on educating, empowering, and equipping children with healthy grief and coping strategies in a compassionate and supportive setting.
