Level III Trauma Center

We’re here when you need us 24/7 — delivering state-of-the-art emergency care in our specially equipped 20-bed Emergency Department. Good Samaritan is a verified Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This verification means that Good Samaritan is the 4th Indiana Level III Trauma Center in the state and the first verified trauma center in the Wabash Valley.

After years of active participation within the Indiana State Trauma Care Committee, Good Samaritan has helped to realize the organization’s goal to expand statewide care for injured patients as the 13th overall verified trauma center in the State of Indiana.

When Every Second Counts, You Can Count on Good Samaritan Trauma Center

Good Samaritan is able to keep 80 to 90 percent of trauma patients here, close to home. Only those trauma patients requiring a higher level of trauma care, at a Level I or Level II, are transferred to Evansville or Indianapolis.

When minutes matter, our surgeons (general, orthopedic, vascular/thoracic), emergency physicians, nursing, lab, and radiology staff are all ready to provide the highest quality of trauma care to Knox and our surrounding communities.
