Good Samaritan EMS to Celebrate EMS Week with Community Activities

Good Samaritan will join the national observance of EMS Week, May 18 through 24, by hosting a series of events that honor the life-saving work of local Emergency Medical Services professionals.
The week will feature a mix of community-focused activities, advanced training opportunities, and appreciation events aimed at highlighting the essential role EMS teams play in protecting and serving the community.
Schedule of Events:
Monday, May 19 – Community Safety Night
Time: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Location: Good Samaritan parking lot at 7th and Dubois
Families are invited to attend this free, hands-on evening focused on emergency preparedness. Activities include car seat safety checks, CPR training for kids, and bleeding control demonstrations. Open to the public.
Tuesday, May 20 – Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Location: Vincennes University parking lots across from the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center
EMS professionals can participate in this course to strengthen their skills in operating emergency vehicles under pressure.
Wednesday, May 21 – Mobile Simulation Lab Experience
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: Good Samaritan parking lot at 7th and Dubois
With support from sponsor Vigiles, EMS and Fire Department personnel will have access to a state-of-the-art Mobile Simulation Lab. The lab offers realistic training experience for emergency response scenarios.
Thursday, May 22 – Stop the Bleed Training
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: Charles C. Hedde, MD Health Education Center
This free training teaches participants how to respond effectively in severe bleeding situations. Open to all community members.
Friday, May 23 – EMS and Friends Cookout
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Location: EMS House, 401 South 7th Street
To close out EMS Week, EMS and Fire Department team members are invited to a cookout in their honor. The event is a time for fellowship and gratitude for the vital work these professionals do every day.
