About Austin
Dr. Austin Muranaka provides comprehensive foot and ankle care focused on helping patients stay comfortable, informed, and active. His patient-centered approach emphasizes reducing pain, improving mobility, and supporting each patient’s ability to maintain the lifestyle and activities that matter most to them.
Dr. Muranaka was drawn to health care through a long-standing fascination with the complexity and design of the human body. Podiatry allows him to combine medical, physical, and surgical treatments to help patients heal and regain function. During his three-year residency, he received extensive training in clinical care, surgery, and wound management, experience he continues to apply in providing well-rounded care for his patients.
Understanding that every patient has different needs and goals, Dr. Muranaka prioritizes education and shared decision-making. He works closely with patients to explain their condition, review treatment options, and develop care plans that align with their personal goals and lifestyle.
Originally from Utah, Dr. Muranaka and his wife moved to Southern Indiana for residency training in Evansville. Although they initially planned to return home, they quickly developed a deep appreciation for the welcoming spirit of the region. Nearly two decades later, they proudly call Southern Indiana home, where they have raised their four children and built strong connections within the community.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Muranaka enjoys spending time with his family, staying active at local gyms, golfing, attending church, and traveling when possible.
