Karan Dhand, MB,BCh

About Karan

Karan is from Toronto, Ontario. He received his undergraduate degree in biology and Medical
Science from the University of Western Ontario. In college, he was a member of the Dragon
Boat team. During that time, he learned that he was “not just paddling for myself; I was
paddling for the person seated next to me”. He is a competitive table tennis player. During
medical school, he served as a peer mentor and tutor. His responsibilities included
recommending suitable accommodations, helping incoming students navigate their curriculum
and providing valuable resources for school. He was the lead author of a study on clinical
guidelines for telepsychiatry in child and adolescence.
