Ultrasound

Ultrasound

An ultrasound, or sonogram, is a painless, noninvasive test that uses sound waves to create images of organs, tissues, and blood flow. A transducer sends sound waves into the body, and the returning echoes are converted into real-time images. Because ultrasound uses only sound waves, there is no radiation exposure.

Our Team

All ultrasound technologists are registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Ultrasonography.

Types of Ultrasound Exams

We perform a wide range of ultrasound studies, including:

  • Abdominal ultrasound — Liver, gallbladder, intestines, pancreas, bladder, and spleen

  • Gynecologic (pelvic) ultrasound — Evaluates the female pelvic organs via abdominal or transvaginal approach

  • Obstetric ultrasound — Assesses fetal growth, position, and maternal-fetal health

  • Renal (kidney) ultrasound — Evaluates kidney structure, stones, cysts, tumors, and blood flow

  • Scrotal ultrasound — Identifies testicular abnormalities, pain, or infertility concerns

  • Thyroid ultrasound — Evaluates thyroid structure and abnormalities

  • Ultrasound-guided biopsies and drainages — Uses real-time visualization to guide fluid removal or tissue sampling
