Good Samaritan is excited to announce a new and fun event for women getting
their mammograms this April and May. The hospital’s Breast Care
Center is offering mammogram parties for groups of 5 to 15 people who
are 40 years of age and older.
“Yearly screening mammograms are an important step to detect breast
cancer early,” said Crystal Beadles, Mammography Manager at the
Breast Care Center. “Some women may feel hesitant about getting
their mammogram, but these parties are a way to encourage groups of women
to support each other during the process in a fun and safe environment.”
The three themes party goers can choose from are: Muffins and Mammograms,
Pretty in Pink, and Mammograms and Margaritas (non-alcoholic). Each party
participant will also receive a goodie bag. In order for insurance to
cover the cost of the screening mammogram, attendees must not have had
a mammogram within the last year before the party date.
To schedule a mammogram party or to find more information, go online to
gshvin.org/mammoparty or call the Breast Care Center at 812-885-3627.
In addition to the mammogram parties, the Breast Care Center is also offering
walk-in hours for screening mammograms Monday through Thursday from 9
a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. in April and May.
