Clubhouse to Dance their way to Raising Funds

Clubhouse to Dance their way to Raising Funds

The Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse, a program of Good Sam’s Samaritan Center, will be hosting the first Annual Dancing with the Vincennes Stars on October 8. This monies raided from this fundraiser will support the Clubhouse’s daily operations as well as other equipment needs.

The event will be a night of food, fun, laughter and dancing! Five local Vincennes Stars have already began learning their dance moves, costumes have been designed and their music is tuned and ready for the Dancers to hit the wooden, official competition size dance floor. Big thank you to our Stars, Allie Bobe, Scott Charleston, Tiffany Conover, Andrew Hinz and Rob McLin.

The Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse is much more than a social or employment service. First and foremost, it is a community of people with mental health difficulties working together toward the common goal of recovery. Members are unique individuals who possess valuable talents, strengths and abilities which when combined, assist in making the Clubhouse come alive. The sense of membership, support and belonging are the very heart of the Clubhouse way of working. The Clubhouse is nearing completion of its second year of service and has grown to more than 90 Members. That growth created the need for a larger Clubhouse and this fall Members will be moving into their new building.

The Clubhouse looks forward to members of the community joining in on the fun. Individual tickets as well as table sponsorships are available. You can purchase those online at www.samaritancentergsh.org/dancing or by contacting Cher Wehrman, 812.886.6549, cwehrman@gshvin.org.
