Troy is originally from Eskridge, Kansas. Troy served eight years in the
United States Marine Corps and then received training to become a Critical
Care Air Transport Team Respiratory Therapist with the United States Air
Force. It was this experience that started him on the road to medical
school. Troy received a degree in Cardiopulmonary Laboratory Technology
from the Community College of the Air Force. After he completed his military
service, he worked as a respiratory therapist in the VA. He received a
degree in biology from Washburn University. He developed a love of travel
after an exchange student experience. Troy has also recently discovered
the joys of trekking, and has hiked the Inca Trail, the Great Wall of
China and Kilimanjaro. He plans a career in critical care medicine.
