The opening of the Gibault Memorial Tower is right around the corner. After
years of planning and construction, the Grand Opening of the new tower
will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Everyone is invited to attend
the ceremony and tour the new facility. “We are so excited to finally
be able to open the Gibault Memorial Tower,” stated Rob McLin, President
and CEO. “We cannot wait to show the community what we have worked
so hard to create and present this state-of-the-art facility to them.”
The Grand Opening festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting at 3:30
p.m., followed by opening remarks and ceremony at 4 p.m. and ending with
guided tours from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Senior Leadership, Department Directors,
physicians and hospital staff will be assisting with the tours explaining
and demonstrating some of the new technology and amenities in the patient rooms.
A couple weeks following the Grand Opening, patients will begin to move
into the new tower. “We are working to make this process as smooth
as possible,” stated Don Page, Director of Engineering. “We
plan on moving a floor every three days with the help of employees and
volunteers assisting with the move or guiding visitors to the correct
locations.”
Good Samaritan encourages patients and visitors to look for signage throughout
the hospital and ask for assistance when needed during this time. Extra
volunteers will be available around the main entrances to guide visitors
who are lost or looking for a patients’ room. “This will be
an exciting next couple of months for all of us,” adds McLin. “We
look forward to seeing the community during the Grand Opening on July
15 and are ready to move into Gibault Memorial Tower.”
