Good Samaritan Offering Pediatric COVID Vaccination Clinic

Good Samaritan will be offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 5 to 11 on November 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at GSPN Kids located at 514 S. Ninth Street in Vincennes.

Chief Operating Officer at Good Samaritan, Adam Thacker, encourages parents to get their children vaccinated. “There is so much unpredictability with this virus,” said Thacker. “But what we do know is that vaccines are the most effective and safest path forward. The recent authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for ages 5 to 11 and the endorsement from the CDC now allows all school age children to be vaccinated. There is a dangerous misconception that kids don’t need to get vaccinated because they are at lower risk for severe disease. The reality is that while the risk of severe disease may be lower, contracting COVID still greatly outweighs any vaccine-related risks.” Thacker also stated that getting the vaccine now before the holidays is the best way to keep children protected at family gatherings and indoor activities.

The first 50 kids who receive their COVID-19 vaccine will get a $10 AMC movie gift card. Children getting the COVID-19 vaccine do not have to be Good Samaritan patients. No appointment is necessary and children must be accompanied by a guardian or another adult given permission on the Consent to Treat form. Masks are required, as well as insurance cards for the child.
