Good Samaritan Physician Receives Recognition
Emergency physician Errin Weisman D.O. was awarded “2017 Outstanding
Young DO” by the Indiana Osteopathic Association at the Annual Winter
Conference on December 9 in Indianapolis. She was nominated for this award
because of her commitment to advocate for change in the health care system
by presenting lectures across the state of Indiana and authentically speaking
and writing about her own personal experience with burnout. Dr. Weisman
is a fierce advocate for better health and wellness among health care
professionals and working mothers.
“I am extremely honored by this award and I hope to continue to keep
speaking out about physician burnout, depression andsuicidal thoughts,
particularly among female physicians,” said Dr. Weisman. “I
also want to continue my work on how we can cultivate a better culture
of wellness and decrease toxic work and learning environments in health
care.” Dr. Weisman currently works as an emergency medicine physician
at Good Samaritan but also remains involved with hospice and family medicine
aspects of health care.
