The Student Healthcare Opportunity Program (SHOP) is being offered to students interested in volunteering at Good Samaritan. The program focuses on introducing students to some of the various careers offered at Good Samaritan. Students will be providing additional part-time assistance with departmental needs. Students must be age 16+.
SHOP is a summer program where students are placed within a department to experience working in a hospital setting. While students aren't able to request specific departments or shadow, they are able to volunteer their time to experience what day-to-day operations look like throughout Good Samaritan.
Student volunteers will be placed in a department and provide on-going needed tasks for a 7-week session. Students are required to complete 6 of the 7-week assignments. Program requirements are that students participate a minimum of one day per week but no more than three days per week. The timeframe for each scheduled day is at least 2 hours and no longer than 4 hours.
